I'd like to hear opinions, positive or negative, about the sonic differences when used in the Laurels. TIA

I used to sell the Full Music line of tubes, but don't anymore, so I can post about them without commercial bias. I haven't tried them in direct comparison myself, because I couldn't afford to. However many of my ex customers have, and I got feedback from them. Most, but not all, I'd say at least 75%, preferred the meshies over the Western Electrics. The consensus seemed to be that, the meshies had more air on top, better bass, and a more "liquid" mid range (whatever that means). The Western Electrics had warmer/lusher mids, some thought too warm. I think as always, that it is a matter of taste and system synergy. Perhaps this unscientific survey may help you in determining what would be best for you. If your system is a bit on the revealing side, the Western Electrics may be the way to go, if you could use a little more resolving power and bass, then the meshies might be good. I can tell you I'm a very happy Laurel owner, and I use the meshies.
I have found the TJ meshplates to be significantly more transparent and with better high frequency extension than the WE 300b's. The WE's sound downright dull in my Laurels in comparison to the TJ's.

The TJ mesh type plate 300B is my third set of tubes for the Laurel and a quite an improvement (more refinement and more "relaxed" sound) to both KR 300B and Electro-Harmonix (also good sounding). Never heard the WE but these tubes seems to be quite expensive for what they offer based on several reviews on the web. But that's my opinion. I would go for the TJ.
In my expereince the WEs are a little more detailed than the TJs.But yes, the TJs are more relaxed and slightly warmer sounding.
