ok. So I got my Dynavector 10x5 and I was testing it today through the Jolida based on the configuration by 'beto' who has the same set-up and it seems a little...soft. Right now its at High output, MM, 100ohms. The Dyna lit. says >1k so shouldn't it be higher than 100? Of course I'm going to experiment on this myself, but I was just curious about what others might have to say, as this is my first foray into MC territory. I will say this: Where did all the surface noise go?
Follow Ups:
You could try the three different capacitor values to see which gives the best bass slam.If 1kohm sounds better then go for it. System matching is far better than by the book set ups.
Have you heard a difference in sound by doing this on your MC carts? Always welcome a little more bass slam.....
I have been experimenting with the capacitance on my MI cartridges.I ran my DL103R lomc without any capacitance at all at 100 ohms.
Bump it up to 1K Ohms and it will probably open up a bit. (If "soft" means dampened.) Even try 47K just for comparison. Keep us posted on your impressions of the 10x5/JD 9 combo. I've been thinking about trying a 10x5 to see for myself.
