Used a Moth Alamo S--essentially an upgraded Rega P1--for nearly three years.
And I've been using a Technics SL-1210 since spring.
The Moth is for sale.
There are a couple of other options. You could by a decent used deck. And then there's this....

you make since I don't think anyone has even heard a "stock" P1. It has not reached retailers as of yet.
The P1 is the old, now discontinued P2. MDF plinth, MDF platter, RB-250 tonearm, same belt drive system. As far as I know, the same ridiculous motor-mounting system.
The Moth Alamo S is a P2 with an acrylic platter, RB250 tonearm, OL end-stub and CW, and Incognito wiring.
The Technics's superiority was obvious from the first cut of the first album I played on it, as a result the Moth is for sale.
