The Dual Shure LM V15-III is the same animal as the "stock" Shure V15-III, just in a slightly different tin to fit into Dual 701, 721, etc headshells.
I believe the LM was fitted as "standard" to the Dual 701.There will be no compatability problems between stylii.

Yes, I can also assure you that the styli are perfectly compatible....in fact they are identical. Now for my 2 cents worth on the V15 III and the Dual 501....you've got a winning combination there....this set up can absolutely blow away most table/cartridge set ups out there...and so many of them very high dollar units. Having specialized in Dual tables for over 30 years, my personal daily player is a 1019 with a V15 III. Have tried hundreds of tables and cartridges over the decades and this set up blows away most out there. Folks that hear my vinyl playing usually think I have huge dollars invested in my rig....then I open the door and show them what's playing....WOW!
And the best all round tracking force for the V15 III is 1.25 Grams.
That should do it...Enjoy.
Thanks for the replysAs for the 2 Dual tables, in your opinion do you think that the 501 beats the 721 for sound quality? I personally like the look of the 721 better. It has a black base and looks quite a bit prettier and modern than the 501.
Though, I also like the look of my rosewood Denon DP-1200 that looks ever so sweet with the rest of my Sony ES rosewood side panel gear.
I will be playing around with the tables when I get home and I will post the results when I get a chance.
Hey Chris....the 501 being belt driven seems to bring forth a little more analog majic than the direct drive 700 series. Most vinyl lovers seem to agree as well when it comes to belt drive over direct. Get that Shure aligned just right with a good stylus and you'll be listening to some very good vinyl playback. And so what if the other one is prettier.
