I put a $20 ad in my neighborhood newsletter, it will run all year. It just came out and I got two calls today. I just got back from the first, 120 awesome condition very nice records including 2 MFSL. I already have a few but many I have been looking for (i.e. Clapton Slowhand, ARS - Champagne Jam). Yee HAH!!! I am going to be doing some cleaning and spinning tonight. The other call said he had 200 that he wanted to get rid of, although he sounded like a dickhead on the phone.

The deeckheads you got to know how to handle. He's peaved that he has to sell either to pay bills or cause the QueenB is nagging for more space for shoes in the closet. I always make an offer for the whole lot in cash in front of wifey if possible-she'll push him to sell usually. But first I make a cursury perusal of the merch though and look glum and hesitant to buy. Start with a low offer -but not insultingly low. Always counter his next ask so as to split the difference and be prepared to do a 180 and walk (slow) if the price is too high. Never overpay is my motto.

No problemo. This is gonna sound like BS but this was what I 'offered to take off her hands for 20 bucks' this morning while the poor sap boyfriend was hanging garage sale signs around the nabe:Three boxes of records including Beatles '65, Introducing the Beatles(veejay), Rubber Soul, something new, second album, meet the beatles and the american tour with ed rudy, tons of Dylan, Niel young, joni mitchell etc and some classical stuff like DG Brahams (BerlinPhil- Karajan). Jackets were VG+ or better on most stuff. Unreal what some folks will part with.
this afternoon and asked if she was sure she didn't want to keep them and if she needed help getting a turntable. Some really great stuff, rolling stones, led zeppelin, yes, blondie, clapton, ARS, talking heads, cars, etc. etc. A lot of them were her husband's and he didn't even come out from watching the football game.
