I've never posted a pic here so I'm hoping that this link works.I just finished putting together my Garrard 401/SME 3012/DL-103R. It's baltic birch ply, with quilted maple veneer tops, beech veneer bottoms, mahogany legs, FIM stainless adjustable feet and brazilian cherry tonearm pillar and board. The finish is multiple coats of boiled linseed oil on everything and Arm-R-Seal on the plinth only.
It sounds great right now but everything is still breaking in so it should keep getting better which is a pretty exciting prospect!

Thanks.
I've just bought a 401, and am looking to do something very similar.I'm stuck on leg options, and yours look like just the trick!
The are the FIM spike system and I got them thru elusive disc.
What else could you want in a Garrard project!Did you DIY or have someone assist with the plinth? The quilted maple is a stunning addition. Nice touch.
Thanks. My SO and I did this project together which was nice. We did it all ourselves starting from raw wood and glue which is why it took us a while to get it all together. Neither one of us had really done wood veneer before - formica yes but wood no and that's a different world. We started by buying a videotape to learn how and took it slow and easy from there.
That's the exact set-up I am hoping to get one day ... but your pic did not show.
