Hey, I agree, there's value in all music [well, that IS a stretch, but you get my drift].And they're only a buck, so what the hell. But, you've gotta admit, any compilation with Billy Idol, Marilyn Monroe, and Bananarama is going to leave you open to some good natured ribbing!
Follow Ups:
Alhough anyone interested probably only needs one or two because most of them have many of the same songs (she only did so many). Still, I always liked the sound of her singing voice, and I think she actually was pretty good at putting over a song. Most of it is hokum, to be sure, but fun. Play it, Dick!
Even for 99 cents.
but there IS a line... and I left it there for your Goodwill to pick up!
I was thinking, why would you buy all that other "stuff" and pass on the one good record you found. Then I read one of the responses, and saw it was "Terry"! LoL
You did good to pass on that one, but I have bought a lot of records for the very same reason - figuring that maybe there wouldn't be a lot of people that bought one.
Usually this isn't a good reason and doesn't result in anything worthwhile. However, I did buy both of the Silver Apples albums, still sealed, years ago for 50 cents each. I had no clue what they were or what the music was. I never even opened them up, until recently. I read something somewhere that these records are somewhat rare and worth a little bit of money. After listening to them, I cannot understand why.
LOLSee, we're both on the same page. There is a line that has to be drawn somewhere-with you, it's Terry Bradshaw [!?] With me, it's a little closer to those damn Thompson Twins.
You know for 99 cents it's almost worth having, just because everyone else in the WORLD probably threw theirs away by now. But that's still a pretty big almost.
Apparently they are mostly a London-English version of our Funkadelic style of, uhhh, "music". Hmm, just got kind of sappy. Not at all what I remember (actually better ;-).Nothing like vinyl to bring out the crisp depth of 1980's synthesizers...
This is how a new member makes freinds on AA, right? Hello? Anyone there??
