I have seen these for years but never had one my nahbor across the street gave me quite a few audiophile LPs and a whole disc washer set I thought the Zerostat would be nice but I don't know how to use it
Its all like new and seems to work just sorta afraid of the thing I guess you could say
I usually just use a carbon fiber brush with good results on most of my LPs
So what do I do with this thing ?
Follow Ups:
The key is to squeeze it so slowly that it does not click at all. I also zap my felt Rega mat prior to putting the record on it. No more sticky mat!
aim it at yourself immediately after you exit the shower. A sensitive part of the body is best. The effectiveness of the zerostat can be gauged by how long it takes to get up off the floor...Of course I'm kidding. Remember to pull the trigger slowly (as outlined below) and release it slowly. If I remember correctly positive ions are emitted when pulling the trigger and negative are emitted when releasing. The point is to neutralize the charge on the LP so both a slow pull and release are recommended.

My system
is after you remove a disc from the platter when it is ALIVE with static. the trigger should be slowly squeezed at the approx 8-10" distance but only during the squeeze, not the release. i release the trigger away from the record.try different scenarios for best results. rarely does a record need to be Zstatted before playing.

I hold the record and SLOWLY squeeze the trigger while aiming the gun at the record at about 8"s away - I move the gun around in a circular motion to "cover" the whole LP. SLOWLY release the trigger doing the same thing and you're done. During these colder months I couldn't live without mine - works like a champ!!
Good instructions—remember, the slower the better. The idea is to make the gun produce as few "clicks" as possible, or better yet, none at all.Anyway, this has worked for me, and I've been using this device for around 25 years.
