Anyone who knows where I can get my hands on one of these engines?
Follow Ups:
There were many such. Which one are you looking for? ;-)
The one i´m looking for has the following inscription on the side of it:Papst Motoren hG
901 3520 001
20.35-4-232 EeM-B112
24 v 50 Hz 22 mikrorarrad März 74
Ha! I bought two of those since there was a minimum order from Papst. Used one for a project (it's around here somewhere) and sold off the other. The price was $90 at the time.Several other TT manufacturers (like Wilson Benesch) also used it. I think you also have to consider the pulley which is undoubtedly specific for your turntable.
BTW, nice little motor.
....
mt
- but where can I get the motor?
Where are you located?
Denmark. It is propably not in production anymore. When did you buy it?
I think you are right that it is not in production any more since that's the reason Michell gave for changing over to DC motors. Bought mine way back in 1997.
I had a Dynacord tape echo once which had electrical problems so i sold it. Me dumbass, it contained one of these wonderful motors.Greetings Freek.
BTW there was a post a while ago about a DIY TT driven by a Papst motor, very impressive. Do the search.
This is the only place I hear "Dumb-ass".
You don't get out enough. I hear it every five minutes. ;)
The easiest way is to buy a Vintage table that used them, I think they are virtual unobtanium ?
I think i read somewhere that it also was used in some reel to reel recorders. Ayone who knows wich one to look for?
