Whatever happened to The Static Master record brushes with the radioactive strip of polonium?
Follow Ups:
they are used to dust off negatives. i havent seen one lately and i am not really sure they are still available. my friend used them and liked them a lot.as for radioactive materials, ten half lives and its GONE! and yes, a zerostat is likely better in that it is directable, and doesnt wear out so quickly, its operating device is a crystal. i resurrected my old one by tightening the screw to the xtal ever so slightly.

Although the expiration date on the Polonium strip is 1981.
The half life of Polonium is 186 days --thats about 6 months. So after 14 years it has gone through 28 half lives. Which if I took time to use a calculator would be probably a fraction of a millionth of the original potency.
Does it still kill static??
Got a Zero-Stat for that. I just use the Static Master for a quick dusting (nice camel hair brush) before playing an LP. I've got a shoebox full of other brushes for heavy duty cleaning. Not to mention a VPI 17.
At least 2 of them.
