In Reply to: Miles Davis: "Ascenseur Pour L'echafaud" soundtrack reissue? posted by elstree6 on August 5, 2005 at 11:59:22:
Keep in mind that in the U.S., Columbia released it as Jazz Track."
Follow Ups:
"Jazz track" is not very good, soundwise, because Columbia "condensed" almost 30 minutes on one side of the record.
Side 2 is much better soundwise. It has some great music, by the Miles davis sextet (with Coltrane and Bill Evans, at that time).
It is the only Miles Davis six-eyes I know that has poor sound quality (only on side 1).
Only one side of Jazz Track contains music from the film and not all of it. Sony Columbia later released the complete music.
Did Sony Columbia release it on vinyl or only on CD?
