This album is one of my favourites, every track is top notch. It was produced and arranged by Walter Becker who also plays synthesiser and percussion on the album. Although not credited on the album I'm sure Tim de Paravicini may have had a hand in it.China Crisis had a unique sound all of their own, shame they broke up.
This album is spinnin, "Yea".

Follow Ups:
Yes,aweome music and awesome sonics, warm and clear-reminds me of the wife, all the best.
As a few of them perform on some of the best tracks from this already fantastic collection ("11 Tracks of Whack", Giant Records, 1994) of songs by the co-founder of Steely Dan (and CC's occasional producer I believe).
We're still in awe listening to it, after all these "CD years"!
"11 Tracks of Whack"I got it on CD, was it available on Vinyl.

That much I can remember. Had all first 3 LPs on vinyl as well as their very early 7"s & 12"s. The B-sides of those singles made them worth collecting. Caught their first performance on TOTP in 1983 and was immediately taken in.My fav is their 1982 debut LP "Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms...", which includes their first hit single "Christian" peaking at no. 12 on the British charts. That LP also contains other timeless tracks like "Red Sails", "African & White", "You Never See It" & "7 Sports For All" which captured the early '80s era pretty vividly for me. In fact, it was an incredible debut from a new wave/romantic band that was gravely overlooked as there were so many of these bands around then.
The band never quite enjoyed the popular acclaim that I thought they aptly deserved eventhough their music is extremely catchy and inspiring. They seem to be only well-known in the UK amongst a pool of discerning fans and were literally unknown of outside UK or in the US...until the day Walter Becker appeared in their studio of course.
Their biggest hit, which is extremely few and far between, was the wonderful "Wishful Thinking" in 1984. It cracked the top 10 and was a big deal for fans like us who simply couldn't believe their misfortune hit-wise.
Yea, got it. have not played it for about 10 years. Might drag it out to play over the next couple of days.
