a very merry xmas to all!!!!!
that's it, i can no longer have all this fisher stuff in my basement
collecting dust, i just don't think this stuff is worth sitting on a shelf collecting dust when someone else could be enjoying it's magic, so i've just done a fisher 400, cost me over $500 to rebuild and i'm just letting it burn in ( 300 hours ) anyway which should i part with the 400, 500c or the x100c ??????? i only need 1 that's all i listen to at any given time....
Follow Ups:
I've got/had lots of fisher stuff....the 400, 500, 500B, 500C, 800C, etc. However, I seem to keep coming back to my 400. I just think the sound is extraordinarily good/warm/friendly/sumptuous even...:)! Sell the others and buy 7868 outputs. Walt
Seem Like you favor the 400. Had it new. Nice unit. Have a 500c and its good too. I would keep the 400 after all the expense that you have in it. Sell the other stuff and find extra output tubes for it.Reagards,
Well, you could just keep your favorite and send the rest to me, I would of course pay for shipping!Keep them all and enjoy!Happy Holidays! Al
I've got a 500B and a 500C. I've never heard the 400 but I think that may be your keeper. I had my 500B redone by Paul at the Bizzy Bee in Illinois and it's a beautiful sounding machine. One day I'll get around to working on the 500C myself. I did have to put a new transformer in it though to get it working. It's in bad need of an alignment.
