I started with a little Sansui 400 with two AR4xs, moved to a TU 517 and AU 517 combo. The TU is a great tuner, the AU has a problem on the right side that I havent figured out yet. I now have the G-22000 as my main system and it is in its own league. If yours is of the same lineage which I believe it is, its a great unit. I am running JBLs with mine at the moment and they are good for rock and jazz but I need to find something for classical so some of my stuff will have to go.
The Sansui G series are nice-sounding receivers with a good low end. I was very surprised at the sound from my G-5500 picked up at a yard sale for $5.00. I've never used it in my main system with Quad ESLs but in the secondary system with AR 4x speakers it is musically satisfying.
Very heavy receiver..does anyone knnow the power (I don't want to blow up my quads..)

35 wpc, from 1973-75. MSRP $300. Sweet Sansui sound.
The big daddy was the immense G-33000, 300 watts per channel. I have had the 200 wpc G-9700. Sorry I sold it. As beautiful to hear as to look at. The G series are some of the prettiest dang receivers to have come down the pike. The G-7500 dates from 1978-81, and boasted a very clean, full 90 wpc. Very fine tuner sections in the G series.
