I bought a pair of Dynacao speakers last weekend and was wondering if someone knew what model they are. They are like mini A-25's. 6" woofer, same rectangular shaped port across the bottom, same tweeter, same grill cloth....but about 40% of the size of the A-25's. Is anyone familiar with these? They were a steal at $5. Xcellent sound...very much like their big brothers.

Follow Ups:
My mother has a pair of some such that I bought her near 30 years ago. It may be a little smaller, think it has a D or X in the model number. Has a grillcloth that covers the front and wraps over the top a little, IIRC. Any ideas about those?
They offered at least these models:
A-10, A-15, A-20, A-25, A-30, A-35, A-40, A-50, A-100, A-150 and quite a few others plus MkII versions of most of these. None were outstanding in terms of performance but were more solidly built than the more common Japanese models.Your Mother probably has a pair of D-20XL which were made from around '77-'82.

Set of Dynaco's, but I'm not sure. My roommate had them when I was in college, and the ones I saw today looked similar. No markings on these, just plain canvas grills and 'Made in Denmark' stamped around the terminals on the back. Looks like the woofers had beed replaced with something with a huge dark rubber surround and something didn't quite exactly fit the hole. For $25 I would have brought them home for a closer look, but my garage is too full already.
I had a set that fit that description years ago. They were very advanced in design for their day and did have rubber surrounds and I believe a dome tweeter. They were made by Seas I believe. They sounded rather thick and slow though. I always liked the KLH of the day the best of the affordable lot.

Yep, they're the A-10s. You can view the brochure for them and their brethren at the link below.- JP

Later Gator,
Crank up your talking machine, grab a jar of your favorite "kick-back", sit down, relax, and let the good times roll.
The A50 was generally considered the worst of the Dynaco line. If I recall right they were a bit bass heavy.
I love Bass. They do it very well. The highs are not bright but laid back a bit, maybe that can be considered dark. They are very power hungry but with good power very tight and musical.
Sounds like my very old memories. I was only refering to their octave to octave balance.
Thank you very much! A-10's they is.
really, nt
