Thanks Alan. Just to be sure I understand correctly, you are saying that I should use the Hammond rather than the QRT's because it will make a bigger improvement (and does this imply that the QRT does in fact make some benefit?), or are you saying that the use of the choke will destroy the QRT if I plug it in?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I just want to be sure, since I already bought the QRT and it should arrive in a day or two.

ChrisI understand...a few months ago I invested in a couple Quantum Pro's....I was never really satisfied with the effect. It was when used by itself, but I wasn't happy when used with the choke. So I started experimenting with out items, including the Bybee large Quantum Purifiers. After I added the Bybee the QRT unit went nuts...the harmonics in the upper mids were god awful...so the Pro is not filtering the computer in my daughters classroom (home school)...the other Pro is filtering her stereo. I stayed with the Bybee's because I laid out almost $900...so I'm making them work.
Please understand what I'm trying to say...I'm not telling you to throw away your QRT's or AP's...what I'm trying to explain to you is one is not going to do it. In order to filter using a different method, assuming the choke knock your socks off, you would have to use multiple parallel units to drop the circuit frequency (magnetic build up in the house wiring) in order to match the choke pre-tuned output. If you don't do that, all you are adding is odd harmonics via ringing...if that is the case why bother addng the choke? The choke is designed to re-tune the odd harmonics or cut them off...kinda like a notch filter...on the hot and neutral, mostly the neutral...you would be defeating the reason you added the choke in the first place.
I have Quiteline filters on the way too. I just want to know the same thing if using both Hammond choke and Quietline filter at the same time will give better effect or opposite. My friend has ElectroClear QRT. He plugs it into the power conditioner and it reduces the hum from CDP transformer. No sonic change
I opened the QRT-1 and found out that the GROUND is not connected ( floating )to the circuit. Plan to cut the ground prong but would it give sonic effect if plugged the other way ? i mean live & neutral reversed when plugged to the socket .
