I'm ready to go to the next level in modding my Denon 2910 Universal player and am investigating clock circuits.To this point, I've seen info on LC's X03, Superclock 3 and Tent.
Can anyone weigh-in on which is best and why?
Follow Ups:
I favour the TENTLABS X03 with separate PSU/trafo, or KWAK-CLOCK (also with separate PSU/trafo). I found them better than the LC clock. Have a (not yet finished) Hagclock to try soon...
Hi, you can build the DIY KWAK-CLOCK.
Schematic available on request. Or you can download it here:

But you have to be a member and not banned.
My clock was received very well in audio circles. It has on board regulators.

Hi Elso,Good to see u here. I've been out of the loop the last 1.5 years only to come back & realise that I can no longer contact you through the other site.
Hi Joe, Funny enough you can still mail me through the other site.
But I cannot and also not post :(

Tent clock is the only one for which measurements back up the claims, and is reasonably priced.The others make unsubstantiated claims. The LC clock does sound good though.

Jawohl, mein freund ! Das ist viel gut, bestimpt. Ich habe kleine deutch. Verstehn sie english ?
HelloI have used all these clocks, some with and some without the dedicated PSU, and my order of ranking is as follows;
SUPERCLOCK 3 = EXCELLENT
LCLOCK X03 = VERY GOOD
TENTLABS X03 = GOOD/VERY GOODI guess price here does play a part, the Superclock 3 is the mostly costly item but then is clearly superior, particularly the bass resolution and acoustic space. The LCLOCK X03 is very good but at this kind of money why not pay the extra and get the superior Superclock 3. The TENTLABS X03 is a real budget winner, its no Superclock 3 and can't match the overall performance of the LCLOCK X03.
Hope this helps in your quest for better sound.

the HAGCLOCK. It has regulators built into the design.
Hi JimAll of the clocks listed in this post use on-board regulation of some type, the LClock X03 uses 4 regulators.
One clock I forgot to mention was the Trichord Clock 4b, which I have also tested against LClock X03, TENTLABS X03 & SUPERCLOCK 3. The Trichord Clock 4b is behind the LClock X03, and is similar in performance to the TENTLABS X03 but sounds very different.
IMO, the Trichord Clock 3 used a better regulator based on the AD797, the 4b changed the op-amp to the AD825 and updated the transistor & logic buffer.
Here is the list again of the top ranking clocks;
SUPERCLOCK 3 = EXCELLENT
LCLOCK X03 = VERY GOOD
TRICHORD CLOCK 4b = GOOD/VERY GOOD
TENTLABS X03 = GOOD/VERY GOODWith the separate clock power supplies added the performance gap widens and changes. SUPERCLOCK 3 + SUPERCLOCK 3 PSU widens the performance gap between LCLOCK X03 & LClock PSU.
TRICHORD CLOCK 4b + NEVER CONNECTED PSU moves closer to LCLOCK X03 & LClock PSU, but the LCLOCK X03 combo is still preferred.
I have not tried the TENTLABS X03 with its dedicated PSU.
Enjoy :0)
