Dear All,Is there any good/bad for Cryogenic treated vacuum tube?
Thanks!
Follow Ups:
most of comercial cryo tubes like PEARL's Cryovalve and Tubeworld's KUHL tube are highly selected and special treated by the dealrs before being soaked into liquid nitrogen. Cryogenics is just part of the treatments to make those tubes to sound superior. Testings and selections of tubes are much more important than anything else.
I recently had a couple of pair of small signal tubes cryovaced much to my delight. The were good to begin with, top of the line in their family. Now, everything that was good is better. Bigger, clearer, more open soundstage, better extension, smoother and more detailed transients, more realism. I must say that this was the last leg in an ongoing process of having all my connections, cables, wall outlet and power strip conditioned and cryovaced. It was inexpensive overal. I spent in the neighborhood of $300 for everything and I've gotten results I never thought I'd get.
As you probably know, you're garden variety signal tubes goes for $150 more per pair and up when cryovaced.
Hey Sigmund, thanks for the info and opinions on cyrogenically treated signal tubes. I have been interested in persuing some cryo'ed 396As for my preamp for awhile now. I will definitely have to order a pair now and see (hear) for myself.
Cory
$10 per pair for small signal tubes plus shipping. Prices may vary on larger ones. I use www.audioexcellenceaz.com Sometimes, I have to wait a couple of weeks for him to get a minimum order together; he sends them out. He's cryoed and conditioned everything I can give him and he's a prince to deal with.I have yet to be less than very happy and I've been dealing with him for a year or so.
