Do you guys think any of these is interesting to start another project
once I finish my 2A3?I mean using one of those as power valves.
I can get them at great prices and get enough to last for my whole life...

Does anybody know this guy? http://www.qrz.com/nm4k
I'm interested in the 211's for my Jolida JD3000 amps. Does anybodey know this guy?
His e-mail address as posted on that site does not work, but hopefully you can get through to him thorugh their internal mail server. Looks liek he cahnged hsi name recently too.
Same tubes advertised at www.qth.com under tubes section. Perhaps that site link will function. It appears legit as his call sign is valid in FCC data base & address matches up.
McIntosh used these big triodes in the MI200 amplifier.

If NOS 211 are worth like others say, then go to www.qth.com & look under 'tubes' section.
I dont know about the others as they are obscure. Obviously you have
found someone with an RF transmission background. Besides the obvious, other fine tubes you ought to be on the lookout for:
801, 10, 845, VT52, 45, 245. For Mercury rectification: 816, 866,
836 and possibly the 575 and 872. For input and driver tubes:
12 and 6J5, SN7, 6F8, 6P5,I must say that NOS 211s, especially if you can obtain a sizeable
personal stash, would be a compelling reason for you to spend some
serious money to acquire output transformers and PSU components.A 211 should never ever be your first project. Build something first,
400V or so, and when you have it working and have learned from the
experience, that is the only time to entertain the 211... If you
had, let say, 8 NOS 211s, I see no reason not to drop some money on
some serious output iron. Good transformers for the 211 would run
you about USD$600 to perhaps $1000 for a pair of crazy insane
amorphous cores.
And keep them for a while. I do not think the will cost me in the
neighborhood of the $10/20 each... so... what's to loose?
They can run upwards of $200 each in the states. On Ebay, they
might command even higher due to the psychosis over RCA brand name.
Lots of people in Asia would be very interested. If treated well, i.e. not mechanically jarred and run below plate
dissipation, they will last a long, long time.$20, I'd fly to Argentina to buy them. ;)
There are many 211 designs on the Internet to look at. Likewise,
there are many transformer designers with devices SPECIFICALLY
for this tube. The 211 is probably the second speciality for a boutique winder, after the 300B and you will find all kinds of
people with trannies for this tube: Lundahl, Black Art Audio,
Tribute, Border Patrol, just to name a few...After your 2A3 project. ;)

Hell, I'd fly to Argentina just to go through the spot where they're stored. Of course I'd like to keep a few...sounds like a very easy to fund trip south. Hell, I can *DRIVE* to Argentina, even more fun. Diesel is Diesel, just bring plenty of filters, and run number 1 heating oil if need be...It's spring down there isn't it?

But after buying such a big bunch of 6SN7 crap, I wanted to check
it out first...I will ask him how many he is willing to sell. If more than I can
buy I might let you guys know!
If you can really get 211s for that sort of price I'm in! I'll have four please. If you like I can swap you for some Tung-Sol 6SU7GT (one of the best 6SL7s ever made) and / or AWV radiotron 6SN7GT (similarly highly regarded 6SN7). I'll pay postage both ways (To Australia).
what he said. I have about 2 doz of the TS 6SU7GTY. So many I give them to friends...if it is more than you can gather funding for, call me. Email me for my number, we could both make some nice additions to the collection.

that's more than a license to print money. You will have the right to open your own country and print money with your face on the big bills...

look about ebay. if you want some investment partners, I would be glad to help you out for either pay-off in valves or cash. I would be all over your source, and not leave until I had every valve I thought would be useful for audio.

Douglasor maybe even a visit...

I built a nice amp with 1619's. Simple little beastie, and quite reliable, and not too much of a heater. Too bad the tubes are metal, so I can't see either the filaments or the other glowing bits if there is a problem.Dynaco Z565 clone OPT. 9k a-a, 25% screen taps( more would probably be better ), along with more core area.
Nice thing is that a filament TX for one of these will also run 2A3's. DH with 2A/2.5V requirement.
The others might be a good liscense to print money through eBay, and fund other research!

Douglas
