In Reply to: How about coin based, side gettters, GE 6SN7 GTB tubes? posted by pastito on October 04, 2004 at 15:55:00:
I am hunting down another source today. Prices are good, about
$10 a piece for anything they have. I spoke on the phone to the
guy... he says he has RCA 6SN7 (about 20 years old, he claims. Can
that be right? Is it possible that these where made in the 80's?) and Toshiba,
and probably Ken-Brown. They also have Sylvania, but not the coin
based ones. They also have GE GTB (not the coin based ones).I know it is hard to tell without pictures, but which are the better
ones?

What's best will depend on what you like and your gear. Others cannot tell you what will work in your situation. At $10 a pop, why don't you just buy a bunch and see for yourself.

Sooner or later, you will have to try them for yourself. Will telling you what to buy, improve the speed of the winding?
For crissakes, THEY ARE ONLY $10 A POP-BUY THEM ALL!!!! What's good now may be less good when you uprage your system.

He took 4 full days for a quote and told me he usually takes 2 weeks
to wind the stuff... I am loosing my patience...
regardless, you will still have to decide for yourself as to what 6SN7s work best for you.
