My dad bought in the early 60's, a pair of 60 watt Dyna amps. I've heard nothing about these compared to the 70 watt ones. Were they any good? Are they rare?
Follow Ups:
Sonically valuable; with tweaks they are the #1 hifi bargain. As for $ value, two weeks ago my friend Greg B. got a single MKIII on ebay, nice shape, with a Mullard GZ34 and a pair of TungSol 6550s for... $125! They routinely sell for $300-$450(mint) per pair in good working order. Not working.... not worth much.
square chassis, two TX's on one side and the tubes on the other? Sounds like the Mk.iii. Nice amps. moderately valuable, but since the good bits are available new production( Our sponsor Triode Electronics has OPT and power Iron ), I would not put them into the preserve at all costs category. They can sound pretty good when blueprinted...

Beware the man who behaves deceitfully towards others, for there is nothing else to save you from his deceiving you
Thats the ones!
However, they are not being "preserved" at this end, (my dad sold them many years ago, claiming that the sound was always bad), so I just have memories of them. They are what got me interested in audio and tubes.
I'm using a pair in my main system. They have Curcio driver boards and PS cap updates. I really like them and might be my best amps.I have 4 of these (with a line on another 2) and I wouldn't consider them very valuable. You can get all the parts if you want to homebrew one.
Don't feel too bad about your dad selling them. My uncle got rid of his pair too. He did give me the original owners manual (plus his Marantz 250 amp).
