Hiya all,
There's a popular tube seller that uses rigorous methods to check his tubes before he sells them. Anyhow, site says he has these 60s era Russian 6SN7 type tubes. Anyone have feedback on them? Only Russian 6SN7 tubes I am familiar with are EH, and am not too impressed w/them compared to JANs.
Thanks

I think people realize that "popular seller" will sell what he can get his hands on, and then try to differentiate from other dealers and justify high price by claiming testing with "rigorous methods".You can get 1950's Sylvania 6SN7GTB, RCA 6SN7GTB, and GE 6SN7GTB - none of which are top NOS, but all of which are hugely superior to ANY Russian 6SN7 - for $30 to $40 on Ebay, and they will be better in every case, even without some "rigorous testing".
Good used early to mid Sylvania 6SN7s are $5 to $10 a tube on eBay.
any russian is inferior to any old stock type and the new EH 6SN7 is the best of the bunch by far imho
