Tech Square

We've discussed adding an additional technical forum that is less grounded in pure hard science than Propeller Head Plaza. Tech Square is the result.

This venue is open to the discussion of any technical issue though tube projects will find our Tube DIY Asylum to provide a better audience for those topics. The primary difference between Tech Square and PropHead is that this venue is NOT for those that require scientific proof or explanation for any or every phenomenon that one might experience.

Tech Square is the place to:

1. Share subjective experiences
   
2. Speculate on what might cause these effects
   
3. Pursue subjective improvement in audio technology even though those improvements are subjective and can not be explained by current scientific theory
   

Tech Square is not the place to:

1. Discuss DBTs
   
2. Question Inmates subjective experience or preferences
   
3. Argue
   

Have fun and play by the rules. Any discussion that is perceived by the moderator to be the least bit argumentative or to not be in the spirit of this venue will be moved or terminated. Rekindling of those discussions will be cause for loss of rights to post in this venue.

    If one was an engineer or designer who does not visit AA often, whenever he sees the two forums as presented on the General page, he'll presume this forum is for the discussion of technical matters, while the Propellerhead forum is for the discussion of wacky notions and ideas...

  Why can't that simply be done in the other regular forums? Unless you're going to prohibit any sort of technical discussion in the other forums, I don't see that this accomplishes anything but to further water things down.

  Just leave the R-rated soft-core tech to the regular forums and set up one XXX hard-core tech forum.

  I think there will be a lot more tech discussion here because 1) the name of the forum makes it obvious, and 2) the name is not demeaning to "techies" in any way. Bravo!

  I think you should permit the discussion of DBTs. I think it *is* possible to discuss the subject without getting personal. (The "flame forum" will fix these problems.)
