A local dealer is blowing these out for $800/pair since they are making room for the 603 series 3.Do you guys think this is a good deal?I'm really on the fence about picking these up for a second system and was wondering what others think?I really liked the bass response & typical good B&W sound but they did sound a little boxy.
How much better are the 603 series 2 over the previous generation 603?Should I just get a used pair of older 603's instead?
Follow Ups:
I home auditioned these for a couple of weeks. I thougt they sounded somewhat veiled, like they had a sheet covering them. I compaired them a B&W CDM floorstanding model (cant remember the number), Paradigm Studio 60 and Linn Ninka. All of the other speakers sounded much better to me.
I owned the original 603 a couple of years back.It was ok although a little boxy sounding but It was at a good price. A big improvemwent on the series 2 was a real driver for bass as opposed to a passive on the firs model.hope this is relvent. pork.
happy listining :-)
Good speakers. What about a used set of CDM 1SEs and then find a sub?
