Hi,Anyone know the preformance of JMR Evolution 2? how about compare with the new borther Evo' 3? Any comment is welcome. Thank you.
Follow Ups:
Exactly the same tuned transmission-line design except Evolution 3 has a new medium / bass woofer and a bigger speaker cabinet. Both the Evolution 2 and Evolution 3 are 3-way crossover & bi-wiring are recommended so that their huge dynamic capability are respected.
Sonically, they belong to the same JMR family & Evolution 3 has a higher power handling capacity. Therefore Evolution 3 will need a bigger room say 25 sq.m to 30 sq. m
Then do evolution 2 right big enough for room about 25 sq.m? How about it compare to current cantabile? Thanks.
I think 25 - 30 sq.m is a very decent & reasonable room size for good listening. If the room is much bigger, some sort of acoustic treatment should be considered otherwise acoustic problem which associated with big space such as echo ( particular from the mid to high frequency range ) will arise.Cantible is the entry floor-standing model of the current product range. It was the success of Evolution 2 ( its latest version is series 3 ) that JMR continues to a slightly bigger Evolution 3, and at the same time introduces a smaller entry model Cantible in order to fit into the market sector.
My experience with JMR is they work very good with small power single-ended tube amps with very fine & smooth details. Transistor amps should be good 50 Watt upward.
In 25 sq. m room and use with a good amplifier, you should have very good results.
