Hi!I've been upgrading my system over the last months. I now have a Plinius 8150 and a Meridian 508.24. I got those from people I knew and were upgrading their systems ... both were in mint condition. I was lucky: I do love them and i got them not only because of the good price i could get.
Now, the next obvious upgrade are the speakers (my old B&W p4, although honest speakers don't play in the same league, neither fit quite well my musical taste)
Since i'm very happy with this second-hand acquisitions, i intend to go on :))
One of the opportunities is the Sonus Faber EA (first series) - I already posted a message on this forum about them (hyperion was a tremendous help)... the other is a pair of Audio Physic Tempo III from a guy moving into the home-theater scene (!)
I listen mainly to accoustic jazz and classical (specially ancient music).
So, the question is: How do you think the tempo III would fit both the existing electronics and my musical tastes? although i know other models from AP (virgo and avanti) I never managed to listen to the tempo's before. since it woun't be easy to listen to them with my equipment, i would like to have some insight on these ...
Any feedback is welcome! Thank you!

Though I can't really say how they will sound with the Plinius, the Tempo's I heard were driven by an Accuphase CD player, but the amp I can't remember. Sorry. The sound of the Tempo was one that immediately grabbed me. It helped that they were positioned according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The soundstage was simply phenomenal, with spectacular instrument separation. The midrange was striking. As you, I also listen to mainly classical music, and for that the Tempo's would be fine. Though, you will have to forego some of the bottom end, which might affect large classical pieces - but one that a subwoofer will easily correct. However, they are perfect for chamber and baroque music. Personally, I am waiting for a good deal on a Virgo, or maybe even a Libra. But, I know I would be happy with the Tempo as well.
thank you very much! Your comments were a good help... I do think I will have to listen to them. I quess they will sell for less then the equivalent of $1500 ... so itīs a good opportunity :)
Oh, yes, I forgot to say that the Audio Physic is very good for Chamber music. I really enjoy it with classical and jazz music. Rock is ok but not the best.
Hello,So did you like the Virgo and Avanti? I haven't heard the tempo either but I have a pair of Virgo and also using Plinius gear (SA100). They are good match - well controlled bass and great soundstage. For more info, please see my review in the review section. According to John C. Aussie, if I am right, the 8150 is similar sound to the SA series. So it should apply well.
Hope this helps.
Hmmm ... a Plinius owner ... I have to trust your judgement :)!!!!in fact the preamp section of the 8150 is quite similar to the M16 :) it's really an outstanding integrated amplifier! I do love the virgo's ... so I think we have some serious affinities regarding the way we like the music to be presented.
Thanks a lot for your advice! I will listen to them ... it's not everyday that a pair of Audio Physic speakers show up in second hand here in portugal ... and they are told to be in mint condition!
