I realized that the tweeter in Bolero Compakt is Focal made but haven't heard anybody mentioned about its 5" woofer. Anybody knows who make the woofer for this speaker model. I am just curious and don't want to crack the box open to look at.
Follow Ups:
Dear Huigor,The woofer is also made by Focal.
It is their dual-voice coil version of the 5N driver (not manufactured any more), and in my opinion is their best 5" driver ever.
In the Bolero Kompakt they use this woofer to create a 2.5-way design: 1 voice coil only produces bass below about 200 Hz and the other goes all the way up to about 2200 Hz (where it is crossed-over to the tweeter).

Thanks Yoav!Interesting point to know. With this 2.5 way design, would it be better of for me to find a subwoofer to accompany this speaker? I like to extend the low frequency from currently 50 Hz to lower 30 Hz, if possible using somewhat 8" or 10" subwoofer. Would be very interested to hear if anybody is using the subwoofer with this speaker.
Dear Huigor,I have contructed such a subwoofer for my father, who uses the Bolero Kompakt. The results were awesome.
What I did was the following:
I used the Peerless XLS-10 and XLS-10 slave (265 g version) in a passive-radiator enclosure of 20 liters. The amplifier module used was the Hypex HS200.
In the Bolero Kompakt I have sealed the bass-reflex port using a small towel (stuffed it in very densely). If you are not an experienced speaker builder, you can use a similar subwoofer design by www.intertechnik.de using the same drivers and amplifier.

Just curious what pre/amplifier does your father use with his Bolero compakt?
Dear huigor,My father uses a Symphonic Line RG10 Mk3 integrated amplifier.
