I believe it is the same as those in M10, is so, it it the T52 as Duke said. I blew one up several years ago and sent back to Meridian and did a recon for me. There is no replacement available.Paul Lam

Its the very rare KEF T52 (SP1072) as used in KEF Ref 105, 105-2 and KEF Cantata (SP 1056) loudspeakers.
Hi You seem to know KEF drivers well. Do you know the difference between the B200 bass/mids numbers SP1022 and SP1039.
B200 SP1022 with a big square magnet are out of a pair of production KEF Cadenzas. The dust cap and magnet on the SP1039 will be smaller and probably be out of a pair of KEF Corellis - I will know for certain next week as I am taking a pair apart also a pair of KEF 104's which look as if somebody has been up to no good - the dust caps are diferent sizes. If you see SP1063 with a small alnico magnet (not ceramic) will be out of of a pair of IMF TLS50's. If you want to use any production or OEM KEF speakers for home brew designs remember that as KEF had control over all aspects of magnet size and type, voice coil diameter and number of voice coil turns you will have to know exactly out of which design they came and work out the small Thiel parameters yourself, as those for the kit B200 SP1014 can only be taken as a first approximation.
The SP1039 was used in the 104ab as well. What i am trying to find out is if their is a large difference in their sound.
No change in sound only better sound because the drivers will be computer matched so dont blow one!
KEF Corelli speakers use the SP 1063 version of the B200 like the later IMF TLS 50 mk 2's if anyone is interested.
My DSP 5000's and 5500's use a SEAS tweeter . Im not sure what the M2's use , however Duncan Smith at meridian will most likely be able to help and you will probably find Meridian carry stock replacements.
(I have actually replaced the drivers in my DSP5500's with other SEAS units of better quality and have reaped some major benefits)

My recollection is that the M2 used a KEF tweeter called the "T-52" or something like that - it's about a 2" diameter flattish Mylar dome, right??I tried to buy a pair many years ago, and they weren't available to the public then. I've never seen them anywhere except on Meridian speakers from that era.
I'd guess try KEF channels, assuming Meridian channels come up empty. Perchance the guys at Madisound can help - I think they used to sell some KEF drivers, so at the least they might have ideas for a replacement.
I'd think you'd want to maintain the more narrow radiation pattern that big dome would have - maybe the Audax 34 mm dome mid/tweet might be a reasonable approximation, or perhaps the Dynaudio 54 mm dome midrange. Since the M2 uses an active crossover you probably could get away with not changing component values, but you might have to get a bit creative in matching efficiencies.
Best of luck to you. I have a fond place in my heart for the little M2's - they were my first experience with holographic imaging, and I'll never forget it. I hope you can return your pair to service.
