Hi I just bought Dunlavys SC 2, I,m currently using a MCintosh 250 (22 year old amp), looking for resolution, liquidity, warmth and good low end. Music preference 70% classical 30% Jazz. Heard the speakers at the dealers with 8,000 Jadis, sounded great but out of my budget ,looking for something around 2 or 3 thousand.

Thanks Hifitommy, Brian and Tommy for the comments. Seems like the BAT,s vk 60 is a good way to go. Unfortunatly in my country there is no Bat dealer and i will have to import it from the states. I have also thought about Bryston which is avalilable here with 20 year warranty, the model i ,m thinking is the 3bst, any body care to comment on the synegy with the Dunlavy,s.
i recently heard some verrrry large dunlavys with bat tubes of about 150wpc, damn good. i also suspect the bigger vtl amps to be up to it.
......regards.....tr
Cardani,This all depends on taste and what you want. Do you want new or used gear? Audio Research VT-100 MK II's can be had for $2500.00 used, as well as Conrad Johnson MV-60's, and BAT VK-60's for about 2K used each. All are fine amps.
Hope this helps,
JOhnny
Since you like tubes you need to be careful about the output impedence or dampening of the amp. The Dunlavy SC-II varies in impedence from 3 ohms to 7.5 ohms. The dip in impedence is in the bass region. So assuming you have a vairly good tube amp with one ohm output impedence, it would droop 1.1dB at the least and 2.5dB at the most. This means it will add 1.4 dB variation in the frequency response. Also, from personal experience that magical clean bass will soften up a bit with tube amps.
