I am planning to get a 2nd hand Totem one model to match up with my Audion Sterling Tube AMP...The Sterling is rated at 12 Watts (Class A) into 8 ohms
Currently using a Concertino with it, no problem...So I am wondering if the Totem's 4 ohm impedance cause problem for the AMP??
Follow Ups:
are the totems effiicient speakers? the reynauds are rated at 90 i believe. Yes, anything in the mid-80s would make those amps work too hard.
Off topic: I've got Audion Silver Knight PP monos and I would recommend you Triangle Speakers. Any model within your budget.
i would discourage you from mating the model 1 with a 12w tube amp. i used to own the model 1S and ran them with cary 60-wats monoblocks. it was not the best combination. the model one matched solid state amps better IMO.good luck

Not the best combination i can think of.Sonus Faber Signum and Proac Response 2s excluded, i believe that this remarkable amp does not like small loudspeakers no matter how brilliant they might be.
Even my favorite small loudspeaker Proac Response 1Sc, is not an ideal match.
If you can find a used Proac Response 2 or 2s BUY IT !.

I think I can answer this... I used to own a pair of original Totem Model 1s. The 4 ohm load should not be a problem provided you can rewire the output transformers to 4 ohms. What is a greater concern is the inefficiency of the Model 1s. I tried to run them with a Sonic Frontiers SFS-40 (40 watts per channel, tubes). The mids and highs were amazing and voices sounded so natural they were scary. But, there was not much bass. I switched to a Bryston 3B-ST and the bass came back, with no audible degradation to the mids and highs. The Totem Model 1 is an amazing speaker, but you need a fairly "real" amp to realize their potential.
