Anyone else own a pair of these? I recently went to an all Rega [electronics] system. I already owned a pair of Spendor S5e's when I purchased the Rega set up. The Spendors with the Rega's made beautiful music but two things soon became appearent. First, the little Spendors are too small for my large room. Second, while they sounded great, it was obvious the Spendors wanted more power than the Rega Mira is able to provide. Now here's where it pays to have a good dealer. My dealer allowed me to swap my year old Spendors straight up for a pair of Triangle Antal ESW's. You want to talk about a match made in Heaven? Wow! I believe this combination [Mira / Appolo / P3 / Antals] is the best sound I've ever had in my house. By far not the most expensive set up but a set up that clearly shows the importance of system matching. Thru the Rega's, the Antals are fast, clean and detailed as all get out. The current Triangles are also greatly improved in their bass response. The bass is deep, fast and tight as a drum. This modest [by high end standards] system makes music absolutly stunning. There is no part of the Triangles sound that I can honestly slam. Acoustic, classical and rock all sound amazing thru this system. I know a lot of people say that Triangles are bright, lack bass or whatever but that couldn't be farther from the truth. These are amazing loudspeakers at any price and a slam dunk steal at their asking price. I am in musical heaven listening to these. If anything, the Rega's 60wpc might be overkill. I think these Triangles would be fine with as little as 20wpc. What a damm fine speaker!
Follow Ups:
I recently heard these new iterations of the Antals at a local shop being driven by a 2a3 push/pull integrated rated @16w/ch (by the manufacturer - real world would be 10w max. based on the tube and design of the amp).It was nothing short of stunning. I would have to say that they did seem just a "tad" strident however, I just think that's a characteristic of Triangle.
I heard incredible imaging and stage width a good 4 feet outside and behind the outer edge of the speaker - I was completely thrown and in disbelief that these Antals could sound so good. So much so that I returned the next day with my beloved Paradigm Ref 20 v.2's in tow.
While the ref 20's did an admirable job, detail, imaging was quite close - the soundstage was no where near the width of the Antals. I wasn't prepared to purchase the Antals at the time but it launched me on to a floorstander shopping frenzy.
Another thing I noted for myself was that I do tend to favor some sort of metallic tweeter - the air about the presentation with the Antals was also very very nice.I'd say, under 2k, the Antals are very tough to beat. The shop's rig is full of serious gear into the multi-thousands with their reference rig consisting of Grand Utopias being driven by Mastersound's 845 triode based integrated.
Even with the multi-thousand rig right there - I leaned towards the Triangle - 2a3 rig, not only because of price but it's simplicity as well.
I might have rolled the input tubes or changed cables to "soften" up the top just a tad but overall the sound was quite impressive.
I'm currently running VSA vr-2's...and I'm really enjoying these - they are extremely dynamic contrary to some opinions and do a very good disappearing act.
The bass and output levels of these lo-mid eff 87db/w speakers is surprisingly stunning on my 40w el34 push/pull amp. I actually think that the amp is the bottleneck in my system at the moment preventing the same width of stage that the Triangles gave. Reason I say this is that digital sources seem to sound similar to eachother. That's another story however.
The Triangles are probably next on my "grocery" list.
Congrats on the trade!
I'm looking at the Triangle's as well - also looking at Dali Ikon 6 and Revel F12's. I also would appreciate any comments on these.

I recently moved my Spendor S5e's out of a Naim Nait 5i/Naim CD 5i system and into a PrimaLuna/Rega Apollo system. Sounds awesome.I've ordered the Triangle Antal ESWs to go into the Naim system. However, I took a look on the Naim forum and lots of folks there say Triangle and Naim are a bad match. The comments are mostly from the pre-ESW period. I'm hoping this turns out ok. (Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to audition the Triangle/Naim combo.)
