Need a sub for my new Revel M22's for stereo only. Can't find a used REL or Revel sub on audiogon.Would sunfire keep up with M22's? Other suggestions?
Thanks!

I own one of these subwoofers. It's a quality item. Goes down to 18 Hz. Very clean sound. No boom, just the bass that's meant to be there. Search for the Stereophile review online. The one on Agon has a 6 out of 10 rating for condition. Probably means that the wood cabinetry has been scratched. Heavy. Shipping will require crating. Otherwise a great subwoofer, and the price is good. Good luck.
....I would jump on this deal in a hot minute!!The Muse Model 18 is one of THE best commercial subs ever designed...especially the "personality X-over cards".
Heard one in a HT system some years ago and was mightily impressed :-)

I love my tube amps (ARC VTL and CJ), and my speakers (Maggies and Martin Logans), but my Muse subwoofer is the one piece of gear I'll never part with. Best bass I've ever heard, save for whatever they're using in IMAX theatres. Deep pipe organ music is truly awesome. The only problem I've had is lack of space. This sub deserves a large listening room. Currently I'm running mine in a smallish apartment. Argh! Still sounds plenty good though.
I would suggest U go with the Revel Performa B15a.Seems to me that would be the best match of any sub for your M22's.
"Would sunfire keep up with M22's?"
While the Sunfire is an "impressive" sub for it's size and can certainly move a substantial amount of air, long term listening reveals that it has a coloration that can be best described a "rubbery" if that makes sense. In other words, it sounds artificial.
Stick within the Revel family for best integration although one of the new REL's just might be the ticket if your looking for an augmentation subbass system :-)
Cheers,
Might present a good opportunity to pick up a good sub at a great price.
Hi Shawn, here is a thread from the DIYAudio forum about a very easy to build sub that will get down to 20hz. Minimal woodworking skills and about the same cost as an entry level sub......but this is not an entry level sub. Cheers.
