I just bought a KX-100 on Ebay. I read in one post that the Large Advents were a good choice. I'm looking or a pair in the $200 to $300 range. Any suggestions would be much appreciated - Thanks in advance.
Follow Ups:
The Fisher KX-100 is rated at 24 wpc rms. In my opinion, your speakers should have a sensitivity rating of 95 dB or higher. If not you will experience clipping and distortion at higher volume levels.Keep in mind that when an amp reaches 60-70% of it's rated power, distortion starts to creep into the sound. Therefore, your Fisher is only capable of producing around 14 watts of distortion free sound (60% of 24 watts)
Just about any speaker that utilizes AlNiCo magnets will be a match made in heaven with your Fisher. There is an effable beauty when AlNiCo magnet drivers and vintage iron, such as your Fisher or an EICO for instance, are combined.
I currently use a rebuilt EICO 2050 with Alon Lotus SE mk lll's that portray the musical message like no SS amp could ever hope.
Of course a vintage pair of Advents or JBL's would also be the cats meow.
Cheers,

Depeneding on the sound you want, good bass and can listen to them all day....just about any bozak (except maybe the concert grands) can be drven with 14 watts.
epi's sound nice on fisher tubes. 200-300.00 would get you something a cut above the class epi 100 also.
