Anyone like the Definitive Technology line? I have a 100w Rotel Integrated and I'm thinking of auditioning the bp10b.
Follow Ups:
the bp8 sounds better musically but the bp10b has a better tweeter than the bp10.they go low in the bass for thier size
I agree with Ozzy. I have a older set of BP8Bs which I
still use in my HT system. And see no reason to ever change
them out. The Bipolar design is great for HT. If you can
get a set of older BP10Bs used, they would be great,
for HT and average for music. But if music is your main
thing...get yourself a set of Vandersteen 1Cs like I
did. At ~$800 new including stands they are hard to
beat. You can ever pick up a set used in the $4-500
range. IMHO...one of the best sub-$1k speakers built.Bill
Depends on your priorities. I have only heard the BP10 in passing, but I owned the BP2000s many years ago. They were only fair with music but great with HT. The bass was boomy and ill defined with music no matter where you set the gain and xover of the sub amp. But boy they sounded good with dinosaur stomps and the like. And created a very large and diffuse soundfield, not to my taste for two channel listening. The BP10 might be a little better with music, but I think the general consensus of DT speakers are pretty much the same across the line. My advice is to look elsewhere, unless video is your main thing.
