I have a database on my sight of thread types to mount speaker spikes / floor cones for the different high end speakers on today's market. I only have about 1/4 of the total and would like help in completing my list. Please let me know what speakers you have and the thread type of the inserts installed.... it would be much appreciated. If you want to see the speaker types and thread sizes I have already gathered or check the size for yours, my site is www.oregondv.com.
I have contacted many different manufacturers but most won't or can't tell me
Thanks a lot!

I would hazard a guess that most North American speakers (and stands) go with 1/4-20 inserts. My Vandersteens, PSBs and Energys (and every other NA speaker or stand I've owned with inserts) use this size/thread count. I wish they would raise the bar to 1/4-28 or, better yet, 5/16-24 (better stability, less slop).
Yes, most American made are Standard and European are Metric. It's the exceptions that are the hardest to find. I've even heard of the same manufacturer using different thread sizes on different product lines?

Besides budget requirements, I'm sure its due to size, weight, application, etc.
The OD and anchoring design of some 1/4" inserts require a substantial platform.
