From the desk of DR. Dave C
I got a bunch of these a couple of weeks ago and on the spur of the moment replied telling them to contact my "secretary" and gave them a phone number for my account manager at the bank.
I received about half a dozen emails about this and kept refering them to the bank. They were even sending me phone numbers that I could contact them on.
I know the NIgerian government refuses to do anything about this stuff.
That was when I notised the emails were from Italy.
Ok, EC regulations, now I will really see if I can get them identify themselves to an international bank.
4 emails later and it was no good, they wouldn't contact her directly.
Now I am getting 2 or 3 of these a day.
And what is worse I am getting 2 or 3 notifications of lottery wins ebery day as well.
A word of warning... these guys have as warped a sense of homour as the rest of us.
Follow Ups:
of the US secret service - they used to have a special email address for reporting this scam, or see below for another idea - but no way correspond with them directly.
I sent back to them and said the I have forwarded the e-mail to State Attorney's General office and they tell me it's legitimate then I'll gat back to them. I did get a few responses back but quit answering them.
