You two looked like a couple patrons of the Pink Pony Alternative Lifestyle Bar and Grill having a sissy bitch slap fight.
You deserve each other.

I disagree with you a lot Outside & sometimes I think you do yrself a disservice. On this board, outside of what I thought was an irrational reaction to something just because you didn't like it, I think you're one of the best posters here.I don't know what drives the other guy, but it's unfortunate. I can't imagine anyone thinks he's in the right in the battles you engage in on this board. But that's probably further than I need to be involved.
I can't think of anyone who posts more about new music here than you, and I wouldn't care even if you were a paid shill, because people can decide on their own what they think about something. It's rather obvious you're a long way from a street-teamer. Actually I think a new type of street-teamer for a different demographic wouldn't be such a bad idea, even if it did mean we were talking about a 'paid shill.' The problem with a lot of rock music for anyone remotely near middle age is that there's so little of it that one's likely to hear unless they work at it. You've got a good bead on singer-songwriters & stuff in that vein, alt-country, Americana, whatever, and if someone takes issues with yr posts, I think there's way more good there than bad.
Outside is a different story even though I basically agree with something like half of what it is you're trying to get across. The issue with the gentleman on this board is annoying, but what can you do.
How can I get to this "Outside"?
nt
It is not like where Alice went went she followed the rabbit. It is weirder.
It is a place where people can be the children they are be the kids they always wanted to be. Logic? Intelligent conversation? You've got to be kidding me.But; (no make that "BUT") if you ask for help there on any given topic and you will get it from a wide variety of professionals. Outside has an undeserved rap, but those of us who frequent it maintain that rap as a badge of distinction.
Here's a set of keys.
you forgot to give him a the type of line a shylock does before lending money to someone for the first time..something along the lines of "Are you really sure you want to be doing this?"
a warning of entering at your own risk and disclaiming any liability for the result. I would never, ever, link to that place.

"Occasionally we list eccentrically, all sense of balance gone."
I'm careful who I hand those keys out to. ;~)
.
You just jumped right in!

I couldn't resist
you asked for the passage to Outside. ;~)
they reach me with the least effort and usually with the most joy. It was more involving with complicated rock when I was a young man, now I want to be touched. No longer do I need to tap my feet, although I still do, just not as much.
Tonite, listening to one of my favorite story tellers and singers, Richard Shindell, doing the songs of others and dusting my broom while he does so...He says these songs all belong together and damned if he is not right. On the other hand, his live album...Courier, gets me up and lurching about. (Abooot).
You are very kind to post what you did, and yes, Outside is just that, Outside the flow, Outside the heart, Outside of what moves one's ass and makes one's heart pound and the feet to move. Those 3 things are what I am driven by and those 3 things will never become less to me....When I stop being moved by the poet and the plucker and the twirlers and the swirl and magic, then I shall have checked out and left this mortal coil....but, but.....
Today I am uplifted as I find that Uncle Earl, a favorite Bluegrass group of ladies from up north is #2 on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts and it was the #1 most added album on Americana Radio last week. I do not shill for gold, I shill to enrich my soul and my heart.
Thank you for the feelings....
Soda Stereo- "Persiana Americana".... Another recently-discovered gem....I never really cared for the band's music, but this tune hit me by total surprise. Some of the most-original harmonizations I've ever heard. Incredible stuff.
This has become my favorite Latin rock song by an artist other than Aleks Syntek.
you've showed pretty good restraint LWR. You've also turned me on to some pretty good music.
what happens elsewhere has nothing to do with music.....I am very happy when I can point someone to something they may not stumble across and it works the other way just as often....
As we said back in the day: Keep on truckin.....
If not why not?.....excellent guitarist his vocal is clean, unmolested, pure and simple.
not before now.....thanks, I'll check him out...or as they say in Canada...oooout!
BTW, he is from Edmonton Alberta. He is the byproduct of Ian Tyson and Joni Mitchell’s music. If they ever have a son together, it would be Lester. Let me know if you cannot find him, I will make a CDR for you.
I'm getting the hang of it. Ian & Joni, well known to be two of my very favorite from that part of the world. Thank you.....I'll let you know in a day or so.....
