I recently bought four Yorkville ES1004 dual 18" sub cabs, but one of the cabs had this brand of speakers in them. I've never heard of these and looked on the net but I'm getting the idea that they're cheap DJ speakers. It's SpeakerMAX model# MAX-WF-18240K. On the magnet the say 750 watts RMS & 1500 watts peak. I'm looking for the T/S specs on them before I decide to get rid of them. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Follow Ups:
I ordered 2 of these from www.cheaplights.com 3 months ago and replaced the 18" woofers in a yamaha sv218 with them and have very good results. IMO they are well worth the money and although cheap at a little over 100.00 ea. My pair has taken 1500w @4ohms for almost 4 months now and no problems i think they are way better than the stock yammaha's but i'm not sure about your yorkvills do a side by side and see if they are better or worse.
Google it yourself and you'll find that is a cheap DJ brand.
NEWS FLASH - - - Speakermax doesn't make they're own speakers.They use Eminience.So does most of the brands you know.i.e. Yamaha,Peavy,etc.
NEWS FLASH---Eminence, the world's #1 manufacturer of OEM drivers, makes some of the best drivers available. They also crank out cheap junk for outfits like Speakermax. BTW, Yamaha and Peavey don't source drivers, they make their own.
Out of curiousity I looked at the woofers sold at Speaker Max, there are no Eminence sourced drivers, only cheap Asian imports that are available at dozens of places. I smell a shill.
Shure you may think their a cheap DJ speaker but a great replacement for the price Ive used them professionally for about 4 years pumping 2 peavey 400 series through them at 400 Watts eacch they have a deeper bass response than the Blacwidows For a 1/4 of the price give them a chance youve lost nonthing
