Sorry, basic question.
I have a wireless mic (cheap nasty) that has a mono 6.5 plug.
I want to connect this to my surround sound so the GF can (shudder) sing karaoke.
The surround does not have a mic input so I was planning on sending it to the audio rca inputs.
To do this I bought a y lead but they only had a 6.5 stereo jack to 2 rca plugs so I added a female/female joiner.
So i have (mic) mono jack - F/F joiner - stereo jack - 2 x rca plugs going into my surround sound.
This obv does not work as sound only comes out of one set of speakers a and the little sound that does come out is accompanied by horrendous static.
