G'day mate
for me, i have to go small monitors, I could add a sub as it all fits in nicely with the rMC system.
Follow Ups:
Im also looking for a pair of smaller active monitors. I just moved to a smaller place so no more listening room. I now have one room that has to do triple duty as a bedroom computer room and listening room. So im setting up a nice system around my PC. Im going to be going with a Lynx L22 soundcard into a pair of small active monitors. Im looking at the Tannoy Reveal 5a, Mackie hr624, JBL LSR6325P and a few others and ill probably add a small sub later on if i need more bass. A freind of mine has a full surround setup using Mackie HR824 and a pair of Mackie subs and it rocks. Its so clean and clear no matter how loud you turn it up. I guess thats a benefit of active speakers, the tend to play much cleaner at high volumes since each driver has its own amplifier specifically designed for it.

The JBL has flexibility, especially the LSR6328P
It can be accomodated in small rooms with minimal room treatment.
My opinion is that this is the set up to go with (plus sub)I am going to use a transformer volume control passive preamp to feed the 6328's
i have a digidesign digi002 feeding out into a pair of LSR4328s-i reall y enjoy their sound, being that my control room is not yet properly treated-should i look into getting a hifi preamp to place between them? i am using 1/4' main monitor output? just today i have found how to wire my mac into the alt src to mon function, on the digi002, i am so pleased!so nice to hear my itunes on these jbls witht he push of a button-these are my first monitors, i've heard some other ones but learning these has been a treat so far! one question about mix position; what are the ideal room dimensions for these puppies? also the appropriate distance to place the speakers in relation to how far away i should be from them. thanx lots
