Hello, In the QSC RMX amp line, I see balanced inputs, and no RCA inputs. Do they have models with an RCA input? Is there a patch I could make for balanced-to-RCA? Maybe only with a transformer? Thanks... --keto
Follow Ups:
No, the RMX series and other QSC amps have no RCA phono-type input connectors. You can probably find cables with a phono plug on one end and a 1/4" plug on the other. If you are in the US, Radio Shack should carry something like that.
Yes Radio Shack have a few models. I am using the gold-plated RCA-to-1/4" which did cost me $4.
BTW, I have the RMX 2450 which is great to drive my MMGs.

And should we really be buying them from Radio's China Shack? I've been told that interconnects should cost at least a bazillion dollars for six feet. ;)
Also, I have a high regard for your amps in sound reinforcement. Are there any models which a non-psychotic audiophile should consider for a high quality home hi-fi system?
The inputs are balanced. If you plug a 1/4" tip-sleeve connector into the input jack, it shorts one leg of the input to ground, and so it becomes unbalanced. That works well for short interconnect cable runs. One can always insist on paying more for cables if that pleases his or her ear-go. ;^)
The PLX (discontinued, but many used and old stock are available) and PLX2 amps are probably your best bet. Their fans are relatively quiet, and they have an excellent noise floor and linearity.
My rmx1450 has 1/4 stereo jacks at input, balanced.I run them with a 1/4 mono jack, so I run unbalanced. The jack just shorts the ring. I've had no issues in the last 6 years running them this way.
I would recomment gold plating on both ends to eliminate intermittants, but have run nickel plated.
