Anyone know who made the ReVox microphone? And is it any good? I found one going through some old stereo stuff (I used to work for ReVox in Europe), so this is unused and still packed. Any help would be appreciated.
Follow Ups:
My Grandmother used to sell Revox Recorders and microphones in Holland Back in the Day.. I know that Revox is Swedish.. Also, she just gave me a revox microphone, but doesn't have a small 3 pin connector.. She told me that this particual microphone was about $1500 when she purchased it many many years ago, and said that it was made of crystal - what ever that means..
Thanks to all who responded. I believe you're correct, and it is a Beyer. In the future, I'll try and post pictures when I have such a question. It's not easy getting old :)
With any luck, you have two! :)
As a former ReVox employee, you may remember that the little plastic insert "covers" for the mic inputs on the machines read "Reserved for Beyerdynamic microphone". A photo would be useful. I can tell many Beyer mics by their styling.
Hello, Cellist:Someone else out there once posted a note in a recording forum and mentioned that ReVox branded microphones were manufactured for them by Beyer Dynamic.
Have you tried using the one you found?
First, I don't know.Second, you might inquire at Beyer Dynamic. The two companies were holding hands a while back.
