wtf; certainly not jargon I'd use unless the target audience is from the Antique roads show! But they look damn nice-

Greedy or wishful thinking, as far as the $500 price. I just sold a set several months ago for $400 in perfect working order with new tweeters and grillcloth, and thought I got a very good price. The least these Ebay sellers could do is hook the speakers up and state if they work or not.

just from the quick description and the assorted groovy items in this 'model home' I'd be willing to bet the original buyer 'probably' purchased these for their aesthetic, conversational piece value only.Soooo....they're either in pristine condition or the wires have got the 'Don King' thang goin' on underneath.
Ain't auctions grand?

$499 starting bid on a pair of speakers that sold new 25 years ago for $825.00.People are so damn greedy....
Didn't see any misrepresentation. Only issue would be the "we haven't tested..." clause.

the idea of using a pair of Maggies as a ROOM DIVIDER!
....the annoying part of the original post is the poster himself....
And the fact that they "were told they worked" but are sold as is. Which means you will have to repair them....
