All,I am considering the LPA-1 7 Channel Amplifier from Emotiva and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this amp? I did a search but did not find any responses to this question in past threads.
Follow Ups:
well, i decided to pull the trigger on the LPA-1. I figured there was no risk with the 30 policy and reasonable price. I'll let you all know how I like it with my MMG's
Got to love home auditions, that's exactly how I bought my last piece of gear, manufacture direct.
got it in last night. They shipped it same day that I ordered and shipping was included in $499 price. I have not yet had a chance to get it hooked up...plan to do it tonight after work. The packaging, fit and finish were all very good. The amp is pretty massive and heavy. I'll let you all know what I think.
look mighty impressive; 225 watts/4ohm; Hell for $499 I'd consider two.

Yes, I am seriously considering this amp or their more powerful mps-1 (but only buy 3 channels). The mps-1 has a good review by audioholics, but no review out there on the LPA-1... Also, i am wondering if anyone has used thier product with maggies...
Not much talk about em' in the Amp/preamp archives section in the Asylum. They seem like a pretty decent company which touts using high end parts, electronics. Why not try their 30 day in-home trial? Seems like a good deal to me especially with the 5 year warranty. Sorry I can't offer any first hand experience though.

At $699 it doesn't look bad either, actually it looks freaking great!Dual mono block design
• Extremely low residual noise floor
• Dual high current toroidal power transformers
• Enhanced Emotiva EPM power module topology
• 200 watts RMS per channel into eight ohms
• 350 watts RMS per channel into four ohms
• 1Hz – 80kHz bandwidth
• THD+N - .015%
• Convection cooling
• Analog VU meters
• 12VDC trigger input
• Balanced XLR and unbalanced inputs
• Tiffany style RCA inputs
• High-quality, high current binding posts
• Panel dimmer
• Milled multi-element floating wing faceplate with indirect cobalt blue illumination.
• Dims: (HxWxD) 6” x 18 7/16” x 16 7/16"
would be nice to see a shot with the analog meters though. My first time viewing this line; not sure how long they've been around. Asthetics wise they look cool. Price wise I'd grab one for the hell of it.The smaller version BPA-1 is bridgeable although the RPA-1 appears not to be. But then again for $699 one could afford two.
Btw, anyone know what the hell 'Tiffany' RCA jacks look like?

I called the number to get more info and spoke with the person who does sales of these units. He was very helpful and I did not get the feeling like he was trying to push a sale...in fact he gave several ideas on how I could utilize my existing equipment and avoid a purchase. When he answered the phone he did not say Emotiva, he said XXXX (can't remember the name) Design. I asked about that and he said they are actually a company that designs and manufactures amps/pres/receivers for some of the bigger name companies (would not say which ones) and decided to start the Emotiva line 'for fun' to put some of their own ideas into products. They don't market or sell retail because they do not want to compete with their 'bread and butter' customers and piss them off...so they keep it pretty low key.
The preamp doesn't look half bad either. Lots of great features, including MM & MC phono.RSP-1 2 Channel

This product line from the company used to be sold by AV123,the makers of the "rocket"and "Onix" line of speakers.
There are lots of threads with good reviews over at the AVS forum.Whether it was a falling out or just a split due to financial reasons,I have no idea.Their amps seem to be very solid.
