Our vet tells us the average lifespan is 12-14 years. So Stan is doing pretty good. Our oldest is 17 and slowed a bit, but still going. The oldest we ever had made it to 22...If he's in good spirits, well, enjoy him while you can.
By the way, I got a good chuckle out of your "...you keep cats" statement. Really is the other way around.
