Is the RF-300CH-11400 the right motor? This picture shows it is a 5.9V motor and the Sony drive it with a 12V supply. The longest time this motor will be on is to drive the head from the outer track of the CD to the inner most track, about 2 second, so it may not cause any problem. I doubt if there are two different voltages for the same part number. I can not find any data sheet for the RF300CH so I am not sure.
DEON/Davorin, you have the data sheet for the RF-500TB, do you have the one for the RF300CH ?
Follow Ups:
... of the CD to the inner most track, about 2 second"Nope - this is a really hard working part, it is in constant motion when a disk is playing as it's job is keeping the part of the disk that's being read correctly and exactl aligned over the fixed laser.
And if you want to wear it out real fast, just leave the player running mid track in pause mode for a few days...
It will also work hard trying to read a damaged SACD.The sled motor is pushed to its limits in the SCD-1 circuit, that's why it fails so frequently.
Although this motor is primarily intended for 3 V use, the spec sheet says that it can be used at 1-6 V. If interested, look at http://www.daisy-laser.com/products/CD/mechanisms/vam1202/vam1202_12V1.daisy.pdfSchematic in SCD-1 service manual (page 28) shows that sled motor is not driven directly from 12 V supply. It is driven by a chip with the output voltage of 6 V.
I just received an e-mail from Kysan notifying me that motors will be shipped this Friday, April 20, and that they should arrive no later than April 28.
I am interested in a sled motor for mine SCD-777ES could you add me to your list?
Here is the right one:

Hi,I find datasheet for RF-500 on Mabuchi site, but there is no RF-300 CH model to bi find on their site.
However, there are RF-300-EA and RF-300-FA, quite different electrically. (300-EA 1,6-11V and
300-FA 1,6-6 V)I’m not sure if 6 or 12 V version should be used, but there are different versions of each model..
Sorry I could not help more..Regards, Davorin
There are many many Chinese small motor manufacturer making motors with the part # RF-300CH-10040 for CD drive use. My guess is they use the same P/N as Mabuchi but they are all 3V motors.
I think a few of us are quite interested in this also, and mistakes have already been made by Sony's reps giving out wrong info.
Just making sure your looking at the right numbers... as the RF-300CH-10040 has not appeared .Good Luck,
hey Rick, ck your messages.
My mistake. I do mean 11400.
