It's seems this disc is extremely HOT right now, I've searched everywhere and finally found one at the list price. Elusive is selling it for $49 and Amazon for $92 used and $95 new respectively. I've been meaning to buy this one for a while, but just kept putting if off, can't wait to listen to it!!

for me to go to Amsterdam to investigate? BTW I just bought mine for 18 pounds, and I hate Alison Krauss.
....it's much better anyway (and the SACD is excellent).....well maybe the Lp is not "much better" but better non-the-less....more 'there'.the track "New Favorite" is spooky good.....worth whatever price right there.
I have this SACD and frankly I wouldn't pay $9 for it again, much less $90. I've heard all the raves and don't understand it any more than I can fathom the inexplicable love for all incarnations of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" or that "Tubular Bells" crap. The music on this Alison Krauss SACD is average and the performance fairly weak for her. The recording itself, while good, doesn't stand out as anything all that special. And I like Alison Krauss. That someone would pay $90 for this SACD after they languished on shelfs at Best Buy, Tower, and Frys at $20 or less just a few months ago is bizarre. Then again, I still have a set of Starker Bach Cello Suites on lp, which I failed to sell at a garage sale in the late 80s for $3, that now routinely brings bids up to $200 on ebay when it comes up for sale.
This hobby is insane. And if you need more proof, check out Teresa's latest posts...
stuff like this........Damn record industry.....
Watching the reel as it comes to a close,
Brutally taking it's time,
People who change for no reason at all,
It's happening all of the time.
Bid early and Often!!
Wouldn't it be great if we could get some "rebel" on board to find a way to duplicate SACDs preserving the quality? Like redbook.......Committing acts of sabotage at duplication centers may yield unpalatable consequences

GOLD Disc's !!. and 2-CD's are GOLDThis eBay seller is confused. There is NO gold in these hybrids.

Geoff
Well,Mine are gold color,Maybe not 24K but gold color,Not Silver disc's.??
Yes, most (maybe all) hybrids appear to have a golden hue. However, this is not caused by gold sputtering on the CD layer - that's what a MFSL or DCC Gold CD uses. The CD layer on a hybrid has normal aluminium sputtering. The golden hue is caused by the semi-transmissive (DSD) layer. I believe this is caused by the silicon in that layer, although I am not completely sure.
As far as I know, no gold is used to make hybrids.

Geoff
...why you think people bidding up/overpaying for an OOP disc set that didn't sell very well when it was in print is the record industry's fault?
UH, - good point Racerguy......You mean everything on earth isn't the recording industry's fault??
:-)
Didn't know it was out of print. So, - anyway, - dang, - CD and SACD prices start out way too high....

You're referring to the 2-disc set that was recorded in Louisville, right?I'm sure glad I got mine last year; didn't pay anything like those kinds of prices, thankfully.
....I used to live in Louisville and know the theater...beautiful...can't live there without coming to like bluegrass...one of the countries leading BG festivals used to be there (don't know whether or not this is still true). Excellent recording as experienced in 5.0 surround...and this is about as good as bluegrass gets.

Oh yeah, agreed. I enjoy a wide range of music not typically Blue Grass however, these folks are so talented it very difficult to not listen to the acoustics. I own the DVD version as well. I'm looking to get tickets to one of the concerts closest one to FL is in SC.
If you have a chance to see Krause and Union Station don't miss it. Musicians are incredible, even if you're not a bluegrass fan. I have to admit I never particularly cared for any form of country until I saw her here in Boston. Now I have them in CD, SACD, and vinyl. :)

That's were I purchased mine from - there were none in the states of Florida and Georgia, this one came from Tennesee after a search all the way up to Cincinati. There are no more in BB's system. Like I said not long ago they were everywhere in Best Buy, not now...:)
