Someone else thought that it was bright as I recall. I think that it sounds great and wonder if Madman sounds as good?
Follow Ups:
I have Madman, 2ch SACD capability only. I would not call it bright, but it does sound a little congested and less open than other SACD's I have. In some ways it sounds like the era it came from.
I just traded in a U2 CD that I got for Christmas for Madman at Best Buy.Madman does not sound quite as good as Tumbleweed, but it is plenty warm and not bright.
I got Madman about a week ago and it sounds good. I really don't like the surround mix but others might. I have a surround setup that is optimal for theatre so I generally don't like anything more than ambience in the side and rear speakers. The two-channel mix is really good IMHO. I guess I need to go get tumbleweed.
All 5 of the new catalog Elton John SACDs feature some pretty involved Surround Sound mixes. I think fans of active Surround Mixes will enjoy the surround tracks.
I should have mentioned that I listen to stereo only.
