The 6 SACD set for only 53 Euro. I've never seen it cheaper for Europeans.

I don't know why anyone would call the MCH Karajan 9th from the 70s a "disaster." Have you ever listened to the stereo original of that performance? One of the muddiest, edgiest recordings I've ever heard... I've listened to both, and the multichannel, while not a audiophile delight, is FAR more listenable than the stereo mix.
Thanks for the tip.Amazon.de w/shipping to US: 59.66 EUR or US$80.47
Amazon.com w/free shipping to US: US$94.98
The Amazon.de price is almost 15 bucks cheaper. I've wanted this set for a while now -- is there any place else that has a better deal?
The set is on sale here for $65.99:http://www.redtrumpet.com/software/item.php?item=23271&sid=1028852314
Shipping is free on purchases over $30.00 and they have a List A/List B sale whereby a purchase of the set (It's in List A) entitles you to half off an item in list B.
Cheers,
Sebastian
Sebastian, thank you! I just ordered the set from Red Trumpet.
These discs are stereo only – at least the set available in North America. Don't let anyone dissuade you from getting these essential performances – they sound fabulous on my system (I don't know what kind of tin boxes the naysayers are listening on).
Yes. good price but the problem is the SACD *surround* system used by Emil Berliner Studios. A true disaster!
...which is multichannel and said to sound rather poor (I haven't heard it).The box set contains Karajan's Beethoven cycle from 1961-62, which is stereo only. The sound is good, but not comparable to the magic of the recent Living Stereo or Living Presence SACDs recorded in the same years.
