it sounds great anyway. Based on the first 10 Living Stereo reissues they recently released, the Belafonte is considerably better sounding.Count me among those who would love to see RCA/BMG do it right this time on SACD by restoring the four missing songs, but I would be disappointed if they botched it as badly as most of their first 10 USA SACD releases.
Follow Ups:
Hi,I owned the Classic Records 2 cd set and the import RCA SCAD, the classix sound better hands down, the SCAD bright not much better then the RCA release years ago.
It really gets down to the care of transfer, be nice to see a true SCAD taken from the master tapes and mastered with care, why not a box set of both concerts? That be a four cd set!!
my two cents
"why not a box set of both concerts? That be a four cd set!!"Actually, that would be a three -CD set: the second concert fits on one CD. ;-)
Unless the second concert is also truncated on CD...is it?
have been originally a 2-LP set. I've seen both using Google.
Oh, it's two LP's all right--just not sure if it's one or to CD's. ;-)
But a little pricey for some folks.
This is one I'd love to see get some tender loving care...and converted to hi rez....Any format would suit me..
